A HIGH-PERFORMANCE WORKHORSE WITH HOT AND HIGH CAPABILITIES
The high-performance variant of the AS350 Ecureuil series, the single-engine B3+ together with its more powerful variant B3e outclasses all other types of 6 seat helicopters for power, flexibility, safety and low acquisition and maintenance costs. The AS350B3+ is made to measure for hot conditions and very high altitudes. In fact, a standard production model of AS350B3 recently made history by landing on Mount Everest! The 847 shp (632 kW) Turbomeca Arriel 2B1 engine is equipped with a FADEC system for automatic start-up sequences and carefree engine handling. The cockpit is equipped with state-of-the-art dual LCD screen Vehicle and Engine Multifunction Display (VEMD) unit. This allows the pilot to see at a glance the main vehicle and engine parameters, reducing his workload and enhancing safety. The airframe, rotors and bearingless main rotor head use a maximum of composite materials to lighten and strengthen the aircraft, as well as reduce vibration, noise and maintenance. The AS350B3+ is designed to handle any mission. Thanks to its wide cabin, it can be reconfigured quickly and easily for everything from utility and heavy load transport to medical evacuation, SAR, law enforcement, oil-rig transport and corporate passenger transport.

The AS350B3+ can climb to 3,000 meters in 2 minutes 21 seconds and B3 has more than proven its power with a record breaking landing on Mount Everest. More than 530 AS350B3s are presently in operational service worldwide, mainly performing missions requiring high performance, including "Hot and High" missions and sling work (external load capability of the B3 is 1,400 kg).
